Poetics is a design+build studio founded by Senthil Nathan in 2005 in Bengaluru. Poetics provides creative and affordable solutions for all your needs of real estate, architectural design, eco-construction, interior furnishing and creating natural edible home gardens. Our expertise combines single source accountability and an easy one-point contact to strengthen your vision from ideation to completion on site.

Senthil Nathan K
Senthil is the principal architect of Poetics which has been recognized as one of the ‘Top Ten Young practices’ in Karnataka state, India by IIA (Indian Institute of Architects) in 2016. In September 2017, he has presented a research paper on “Permaculture and Children of the City” at UIA (International Union of Architects) congress in Seoul. Senthil is an alumnus of ‘Glenn Murcutt International Master Class’, a design-studio program in Australia, conducted by Pritzker Prize awarded Architect Glenn Murcutt. He also participated in ‘BASEhabitat International Summer School’ on Modern Earthen Architecture and Bamboo Constructions, conducted by University of Art and Design in Linz, Austria. Before starting his own practice in 2005, he has worked with India’s Master architects, Sanjay Mohe and Christopher Charles Benninger. His design works focus on land, people and their environment and aim to create harmony among them. He is actively engaged in research studies on Children, City and Permaculture. His strong concerns about today’s education system and the cities’ built-environment have been a driving force behind ArChildren, a platform which introduces architecture and nature to children of Bengaluru. Senthil is also an artist and exhibited various art installation works in private galleries and public spaces. 

Senthil has done his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.,) from REC Trichy (Now NIT Trichy) in 2002. He passed out with out-standing student award and scoring highest marks in his final year thesis. His areas of interests are affordable multi-dwelling Housing, Research on Human Settlements, Community buildings, Open Spaces and Parks, Street pattern and Markets, Urban intervention, Libraries, Open and Alternative schools, Future cities, Children and Architecture, Permaculture  and Sustainable Earth Architecture
